The Concolor Fir has been steadily growing in popularity, putting it right up there with its tried and true cousins, the Balsam and Fraser. What makes this fir so special? Here are 4 things to know about the Concolor.
- This true fir is a native of the Western U.S. and can be found from the Rocky Mountains to the Coast of California and Oregon.
- One of their biggest attributes is their very long needles. They can be up to 1 to 2 inches long and curve upward. They also have great needle retention, which makes them ideal for holding ornaments
- Their most distinguishing characteristic is their pleasant citrus aroma, described as smelling like either oranges or lemons. People who like that scent will love this tree!
- They are a beautiful, bluish-silver color and can be almost as blue as a Blue Spruce. Because of the silver tint, they’re often referred to as a “white fir”.
In short, the Concolor boasts nice shape, great needle retention, beautiful color and a very unique scent.
