Some of your favorite herbs and vegetables take a long time to grow, so you need to start growing your seeds indoors while it is still cold outside.
Below is a list of seeds to start indoors.
Ready, Set, Start your Lawn
It’s been a mild winter and it’s time to start to prepping our lawns for Mid-April when we can apply the first of our 4-step programs.
There are a few things that you can start now to get everything ready.
- Remove yard debris
- Sharpen your tools and tune up your mowers
- Rake out dead grass
- Edge Beds
- Apply Lime, Gypsum and Moss Control
- Tick prevention treatments (If you don’t want to do it yourself, we recommend the Cape Cod Plant Doctor.)
Even though we know you want to, it’s still too early to start planting, pruning hydrangeas, roses or any sensitive flowering shrubs.
Be Wary of Frost
We’ve finally made it to April but particularly on Cape Cod, it has a way of surprising us. A bright 60-degree day can mysteriously be followed by a pop-up snowstorm with freezing temps. Warm days mean that some plants, like our beloved Cape Cod hydrangeas, may begin to bud. However, nightly frosts can threaten their vitality. Keep an eye on the forecast and cover any budding plants if frost creeps in.
