Agway of Cape Cod Donates $15,000 of Pet Food
Agway of Cape Cod celebrated the season of giving earlier this month by donating approximately $15,000 of pet food to two local animal shelters, the MSPCA in Centerville and the Animal Rescue League of Boston in Brewster.
The Agway team hand-delivered the 4 large pallets of dry pet food and treats to the organizations on Thursday, December 3rd. The food will ensure that local animals have enough food throughout the holiday season and into 2021. “Agway is committed to helping families keep their pets healthy and happy. We’re proud to have been able to make this contribution to these worthy organizations that do so much for our community,” says Jessica Thomas, co-owner of Agway of Cape Cod.
“The MSPCA of Cape Cod and the Animal Rescue League of Boston are both near and dear to our hearts,” added Josh Wile, also co-owner of Agway of Cape Cod. “We have a long collaborative relationship with both groups—the number of animals they are able to reach and the families they support deserves attention.”
“We’re so grateful for this generous gift from Agway of Cape Cod, it has already made an impact for us and distribution of the food to local families started the day it was delivered,” said Heather Robertson, Director of Development & Marketing at the MSPCA. “The Cape area has been hit especially hard by the COVID-19 pandemic, and as it continues families will continue to struggle, which means pets in the family will be impacted too.” The community outreach program at the MSPCA provides access to resources so that pets and families can stay together, including pet food and supplies, and urgent veterinary care for low income families.
“Agway of Cape Cod continues to be an amazing champion for the Animal Rescue League of Boston (ARL),” said Dr. Edward Schettino, ARL President and CEO. “We are incredibly grateful for this generous donation which will help feed and care for the animals in our charge, and will also allow ARL to be a continued resource for Animal Control officers throughout the Lower and Outer Cape areas.” The Animal Rescue League of Boston is an unwavering champion for animals in need, committed to keeping them safe and healthy in habitats and homes.
