Agway of Cape Cod offers Mutt Mitts to local parks, towns, conservation organizations, and dog groups. The Cape community benefits because these groups work together to stock the Mutt Mitts in the dispensers and help educate dog owners on the importance of cleaning up after their pet. Dog owners benefit because they have a legal, convenient, and sanitary way of properly disposing of their dog’s waste.
Every year, Agway of Cape Cod donates tens of thousands of Mutt Mitts to organizations and towns from Barnstable to Wellfleet. The overall result is better relations between dog owners and non-dog owners, a cleaner environment, and keeping fragile water ecosystems free of the contaminants from dog waste.
Organizations can apply to this program by contacting Jessica Thomas at firstname.lastname@example.org or 508.385.8772 ext 23. Management will review each organization’s application based on our budget, and the group’s needs. We will ask about the group’s station-filling program, how many stations they maintain, and where they are located.
In addition to the donated mitts, Agway sells cases (of 800 mitts) at our cost, so if an organization has needs that exceed our donation capacity, they have a low cost local source. The cost as of 2014 is $71.99 per case. This cost is subject to change upon next shipment.
Dispensers and stations are also available.
