Keep Your Dog Warm this Winter with a Coat

The temperature is dropping and our winter coats have been broken out so now it’s time to get your furry friend a coat for your brisk winter walks. Join us on January 26th at our Orleans store for a free dog coat fitting with RC Pets Expert Nancy Black.

Nancy will help fit your pup to the perfect winter jacket, which is especially important for short-haired breeds.Though, short-haired breeds aren’t the only dogs who may need a winter coat! Dogs who sit low to the ground, puppies, senior dogs and dogs who have long-hair but get it cut (such as a Poodle) all need an extra coat to stay warm.

When sizing your pup for a new coat it’s important that the coat covers from the nape of their neck all the way down to the tail, as well as their belly. The coat should never restrict your dog’s movement and they should be able to easily go to the bathroom with zero problems! If it is too tight, you’ll want to go up a size. Fom extra extra small (Teacup Chihuahua) to extra extra large (Golden Retriever) Agway of Cape Cod and RC Pets is sure to have the perfect fit for your pooch. Along with the assortment of sizes, we also have colors and patterns that will match your dog’s personality.

Make sure you stop in between 10 am and 2 pm on January 26th and meet with Nancy to see what your dog specifically needs.
